1) Organising Authority:
The Organising Authority is Highcliffe Sailing Club.
2) Rules:
Racing will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the RYA, the rules of the International Finn Class and the British Finn Class Association, the Sailing Instructions and the Supplementary Sailing Instructions. Appendix P, Immediate Penalties for Breaking Rule 42 will apply.
3) Eligibility and Entry:
The regatta is open to International Finns Masters who are current members of the IFA. Saturday and Sunday are open to all International Finn sailors. Boats may be entered by completing an entry form available from HSC.
4) Entry fee:
The entry fee will be £60 for entries including dinner Friday & Saturday.
5) Advertising:
In accordance with ISAF regulation 20.3 (d) (i), boats shall display on each side of the bow while racing any advertising supplied by the event organiser at registration.
6) Registration:
This will take place in the race office from 0900hrs to 1100hrs, Friday 5th September
7) Briefing:
This will take place at 1030 in the clubhouse on Friday 5th September
8) Schedule of Races:
Friday 5th September Time of First Warning Signal High Water
Two Races 12.55 1.30pm
Saturday 6thth September Time of First Warning Signal High Water
Three Races 11.55 2.30pm
Sunday 7h September Time of First Warning Signal High Water
Two Races 10.25 3.30 pm
The Warning signal will be the Finn Class flag. The Race Committee may bring forward a race or races but there will be no more than 4 races per day. Any change to the schedule of races will be made before 19.00 on the preceding day.
9) Sailing area and courses.
The sailing area will be in the Christchurch Bay, approximately 20 minutes sailing from the club. Courses sailed will be either triangle / sausage or windward/leeward courses.
10) Certificates:
All competing boats shall hold a valid measurement certificate, which may be required to be shown at registration.
11) Sailing instructions:
These will be available in the clubhouse main bar area on completion of registration.
12) Scoring:
Three completed races are required to constitute a series. One discard will apply if between 4 and 6 races are completed and two discards if 7 races are completed.
13) Safety and Disclaimer of Liability:
13.1 A competitor is responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility.
13.2 It is for the competitor to decide whether they are fit to sail in the conditions. By going to sea the competitor confirms they are fit and competent to sail and compete in those conditions.
13.3 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the liability of the competitor nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may occur, as a result of the boat taking part in the series. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and include the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and beach masters.
13.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the competitor of his/her responsibilities
13.5 Each boat is required to hold adequate insurance and in particular to hold insurance against third party claims of at least £2,000,000.
14) Boat Parking:
Boats should be left in the HSC boat park or as directed by a member of the event organising team.
15) Car Parking:
Cars should be parked in the Mudeford Quay adjacent to the boat park –No cars in the boat park please.
16) Food and Bar Service:
Food and drink will be available in the clubhouse every day. Menus and specials boards will be on display in the clubhouse main bar area along with the times that food will be served. There will be a Barbeque, free to competitors on Friday 5th and the Finn Masters Dinner on Saturday 6th September, free to competitors with extra tickets available at £15.00
17) Prize-giving:
This will be in the clubhouse as soon as possible after completion of racing on Sunday.
18) Changes to Sailing Instructions:
All changes will be posted at least two hours before the start of the race(s) affected.
